Antique Wheeler & Wilson Sewing Machine Attachment Storage Box

Description

This rectangular oak box was made by Wheeler & Wilson, an American company founded in the 1850s which produced sewing machines.  Used as a storage box for sewing machine attachments, this box measures approximately 8 ½” in length, 3 1/8” in width and 2 ½” in height.  It features oak construction with dovetailed corners, a push button latch (which is in good working order), a hinged lid and a purple velveteen interior lining.  Despite wear to the wood and interior lining and minor scuffs/scratches/nicks, this antique Wheeler & Wilson box displays a nice patina and is in very good condition.

:  This particular Wheeler & Wilson box was manufactured after the earlier boxes that featured an embossed lid with the “W&W Wheeler & Wilson Sewing Machines” design.
