Description
Designed as a stand-alone adventure for use with the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Set. Moldvay designed the module as a low-level scenario to give novice Dungeon Masters experience in fleshing out adventures such that it is only partially complete. The plot involves the player characters discovering a ruined subterranean city slowly rising out of the sands. The adventure is set inside a huge step pyramid, with the lower pyramid only sketched out and the city itself described with a list of the major areas and a map. The adventure's main villain is Zargon, a giant one-eyed monster and his minions. The entire double pyramid, not including the city, contains over 100 rooms. This module includes a cover folder with maps and a descriptive booklet with ready-made adventurers for the Dungeons & Dragons Basic Game. It also includes enough information to continue the adventure beyond level 3, using the Dungeons & Dragons Expert Game rules.
This module, purchased a good long time ago in a lot with other RPG material was discovered recently in the bottom of a box that hadn't been opened for a long time. This copy has seen heavy use. As it was not ours originally, it has names and other writing, some edge stains and edge wear, rusty staples and punch-holes for a three-ring binder. (The 3 hole punch indicates a First Printing.) I'd describe the condition as fair to good. Considering the average price for a copy of this module is in the neighborhood of .00, I'd say this is a pretty good deal.
SHIPPING NOTE: We ship via USPS, mostly because it's cheap and offers (domestic) tracking. However, you should be advised that the United States postal system has been experiencing unprecedented delays of late. Some have been due to the weather, but more often than not, also due to the policy changes implemented by the postmaster general. We, as sellers, have no control over this whatsoever. Although we strive to get the merchandise as quickly as possible to you, there are many who do not want to pay a lot for shipping, and we understand that. Media Mail and economy are on the bottom rung of USPS shipping services, meaning that depending on where you are from here (New York), it could take a long time to receive your package, longer than even estimated on a USPS receipt. If you really need something quickly, please contact us PRIOR to purchase and we will give you a quote on faster shipping. Still, there are no guarantees (excepting the most expensive USPS guaranteed express services) so bear that in mind. We only ask your patience and understanding, and will strive to update you expediently in the event anything goes amiss.
