    Description

    I have the honor and privilege of selling the collection of an avid and discerning collector of Mauchline Ware consisting of transfer, checker, Parian and tartan ware with a smattering of a few other finishes. I will be listing them in bite size batches over the next several months so that over time collectors can absorb the depth and breadth of the collection. This gentleman amassed an amazing collection of pieces, some of which I have never seen before and I have seen many collectors' collections over the years. This shield shaped brooch has a photograph of Thirlestane Castle, now a major venue for events. The back, as can be seen, has an inscription, hand drawn in pen, " JGM Lunden, 2 April 1881". The clasp mechanism is intact and works perfectly. It is in excellent overall condition with no visible signs of wear, and no condition problems that I can see. The piece measures 2" tall and is 1.75" wide. White spots, if any, are camera glare. Successful buyer is responsible for shipping and insurance and payment must be received within ten (10) business days of the close of the auction or the sale may be voided.
