    About this item
Rit DyeMore is a synthetic fiber dye used to dye synthetic fabric and fabric blends. This includes anything with 35% or more polyester, acrylic, acetate or nylon. The versatile, easy-to-use and non-toxic liquid dye is perfect for rejuvenating faded clothing and décor, upcycling, hiding laundry accidents and so much more. Please note: Due to the complexity of dyeing synthetic fabrics, you must use this dye in a stainless-steel pot on your stove top to maintain a high-water temperature throughout the duration of dyeing. Cannot be used in a washing machine.

    Instructions
Please Note: Color results vary by fabric type, amount of dye used and time in dye bath. Not recommended for fabrics with a rubber backing or labeled cold water wash or dry clean only. May not be effective on bleach damaged fabrics. If in doubt, test dye a swatch first. Must use on stove top to maintain high temperature. Preparation: Pre-wash fabric to remove any finishes or stains. For every pound of dry fabric (i.e. 2 adult large t-shirts), use 1/2 bottle (3.5 ozs.) of dye with 3 gallons of water. For polyester, double the dye quantity. Dye bath must have enough water for fabric to move freely. Directions: Shake well before using. Wear rubber gloves. Add water to a stainless steel pot. Heat water on stove to just below boiling. Ideally, water temperature should be 200 Degrees F or greater. Maintain temperature for duration of dyeing. Add 1 teaspoon of liquid dish detergent. Add dye. Mix well. Submerge unfolded wet fabric into dye bath. Stir consistently for 30 minutes or until desired color is achieved (up to 60 min.). Nylon dyes faster. Fabric will look darker when wet and prior to washing. Rinse in warm water and then gradually cool water until rinse water runs clear. Wash in warm water with mild detergent by hand or in our washing machine with an old towel. Use Rita ColorStay Dye Fixative immediately after dyeing blends containing cotton, linen, rayon or raime to maximize color retention.
