    How to dye?
    Viktoria Bucket or Sink Method
    1. To determine how much dye is needed, weigh the item to be dyed on a food scales or estimate the weight. Generally, a package of Viktoria Fabric Dye dyes 200 grams of dry fabric. If you want to get a very bold colour, double the amount of dye.
    2. If you are not sure about whether your fabric will accept the dye or whether it will be the colour you want, we recommend that you first test a swatch.
    3. Before dyeing, remove stains on the clothes. This enables to have straight colour results while dyeing. Wash the prewashing item with warm and soapy water. This helps to remove all surfaces, which may prevent dye absorption.
    4. Cover the working place with a plastic tablecloth and use practical paper towels to protect against possible spills.
    5. Use rubber gloves to protect hands from getting dirty and to isolate them when working with hot water.
    6. Fill a plastic container or stainless steel sink with enough water to allow the fabric to move freely. Water should be 60ºC ideally. If the tap water is not hot enough, heat the water in the oven and add to the dye liquor.
    7. To boost the colour: (1) add a glass of salt while dyeing fabrics containing cotton, rayon, ramie and linen; (2) add a glass of vinegar while dyeing fabrics containing nylon, silk or wool.
    8. Add a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to support level dyeing.
    9. Dissolve the powder paint duly with a hot water in a plastic container.
    10. Cast the dissolved powder paint into dye liquor and stir well.
    11. Test the colour by sopping a paper towel in the dye liquor. If the colour is too light, add more dye. If the colour is too dark, add more water.
    12. Wet the item to be dyed and add to the dye liquor.
    13. Stir slowly and continuously. The first ten minutes is the most critical. Stirring helps to provide the same colour without leaving stains.
    14. The item can be kept within the dye liquor for ten minutes to an hour. Keep the fabric in the dye liquor for at least 30 minutes to ensure that the colour is completely filled. Nylon inclines to dye much faster and much darker than other fibres, so less time is needed in the dye liquor.
    15. When the desired colour is achieved, remove it from the dye liquor. The fabric will look darker when wet and then will become lighter as it dries.
    16. To boost colour and reduce colour bleeding, use Fiske Fabric Dye Stabilizer immediately after dyeing and before washing by reading these instructions.
    17. Rinse in cold water till the rinse water begins to clarify.
    18. Wash with warm water and mild detergent, then rinse and dry.
    Viktoria Washing Machine
    1. Before dyeing, remove stains on the clothes. This enables to have straight colour results while dyeing. Wash the prewashing item with warm and soapy water. This helps to remove all surfaces, which may prevent dye absorption.
    2. Set the water temperature to the warmest possible and realize a washing cycle of at least 30 minutes or longer. The longer the product is in the paint, the darker the colours. The longer the product stays in the dye, the darker the colours.
    3. Wear rubber gloves mix Viktoria Fabric Dye with very hot water in a plastic container. Melt well.
    4. If you are dyeing natural fibres such as cotton or linen, dissolve one cup of salt in four cups of very hot water in a separate container. If you are dyeing silk or nylon, mix two to four cups of hot tap water with one-cup vinegar.
    5. Add a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to support level dyeing.
    6. Start the cycle.
    7. Cast the dye solution into the distributor. Then cast salt or vinegar solution. Wash the distributor duly with four cups of hot tap water.
    8. To boost colour and reduce dye bleeding, cast the Fiske Fabric Dye Stabilizer into the softener section. Use one packet flick for one pack Viktoria.
    9. Wash the item again with warm water and mild detergent.
    10. To clean washing machine: Wipe the inside of the cover and cast some bleach from the internal distributor (if any) as dyes may enter these areas. Then fill the washer to the highest water level and select the hottest water temperature setting. Add two cups of chloric bleach and detergent and realise a washing cycle with three old towels
    Viktoria Boiling Method
This helps to remove all surfaces which may prevent dye absorption.
    4. Cover the stove with plastic tablecloths and keep practical paper towels to protect against possible spills.
    5. Use rubber gloves to protect hands from getting dirty and to isolate them when working with hot water.
    6. Fill a plastic container or stainless steel sink with enough water to allow the fabric to move freely. Close the pot and warm water on the stove just below the boiling (95 ° C or higher).
    7. To boost the colour: (1) add a glass of salt while dyeing fabrics containing cotton, rayon, ramie and linen; (2) add a glass of vinegar while dyeing fabrics containing nylon, silk or wool. Add a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to support level dyeing.
    8. When water starts to boil, add dye and mix well.
    9. Wet the item to be dyed and add to the dye liquor.
    10. Stir slowly and continuously. The first ten minutes is the most critical. Stirring helps to provide the same colour without leaving stains.
    11. The item can be kept within the dye liquor for ten minutes to an hour. Keep the fabric in the dye liquor for at least 30 minutes to ensure that the colour is completely filled. Nylon inclines to dye much faster and much darker than other fibres, so less time is needed in the dye liquor.
    12. When the desired colour is achieved, remove it from the paint liquor. The fabric will look darker when wet and then will become lighter as it dries. Squeeze the extra dye.
    13. Rinse in warm water and then cool the water slowly till the rinse water begins to clarify.
    14. Wash with warm water and mild detergent, then rinse and dry.
    Arts
    Shibori Technique
    1. Before dyeing, remove stains on the clothes. This enables to have straight color results while dyeing. Wash the prewashing item with warm and soapy water. This helps to remove all surfaces which may prevent dye absorption.
    2. Cover the working place with a plastic tablecloth and use practical paper towels to protect against possible spills.
    3. Wet the fabric.
    4. To form a traditional Arashi pattern, fold the length of the fabric in the form of accordion curves or in the 3 or 4 width. This will form a long rectangle. Change the convolution and width of the folds to obtain more pattern variations.
    5. After the fabric is folded into a long rectangle, fix one tip of the fabric rectangle to a PVC pipe or a stick with a gum band.
    6. Then wrap the fabric rectangle tightly around the pipe or stick, avoiding overlapping.
    7. After wrapping fabric over the pipe or stick fully, fix the other tip with gum band.
    8. Tighten the entire fabric very tightly to the top of the pipe or stick.
    9. Fill a plastic container or stainless steel sink with enough water to allow the fabric to move freely. Water should be 60ºC ideally. If the tap water is not hot enough, heat the water in the oven and add to the dye liquor.
    10. To boost the colour: (1) add a glass of salt while dyeing fabrics containing cotton, rayon, ramie and linen; (2) add a glass of vinegar while dyeing fabrics containing nylon, silk or wool.
    11. Add a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to support level dyeing.
    12. One package of Viktoria dye paints 200-gr fabric.
    13. Add the bandaged fabric to the dye liquor. If the fabric on the pipe or stick is too long to fit into the dye liquor, use a measuring cup to cast paint onto the fabric. Keep the wrapped fabric for about 3 to 5 minutes to ensure that the wrapped part remains un-dyed for the high contrast mold. For more colour and less white areas, allow the wrapped fabric to be in the dye liquor for 10 to 20 minutes.
    14. When the desired colour is achieved, remove the wrapped fabric from the dye base. Do not separate the fabric from the pipe or stick.
    15. We strongly recommend that you use the Fiske Fabric Dye Stabilizer just before dyeing and before washing.
    16. Rinse in cold water till the rinse water begins to clarify.
    17. Carefully separate the fabric from the pipe or pole.
    18. Wash with warm water and mild detergent, then rinse and dry.
    Batik
    1. Before dyeing, remove stains on the clothes. This enables to have straight color results while dyeing. Wash the prewashing item with warm and soapy water. This helps to remove all surfaces which may prevent dye absorption.
    2. Spread the fabric on a flat.
    3. Traditional Batik: Fold the pinch, fold or fabric to make a design. Wrap the gum bands tightly around the fabric at various points. Gum bands act as a resistance and create white areas.
    4. Now it's time to form the dye bases. One to three colors can be used. Each color has its own dye liquor.
    5. Cover the working place with a plastic tablecloth and use practical paper towels to protect against possible spills.
    6. Fill the plastic container(s) with hot water. Water should be 60ºC ideally. If the tap water is not hot enough, heat the water in the oven and add to the dye liquor.
    7. To boost the color: (1) add a glass of salt while dyeing fabrics containing cotton, rayon, ramie and linen; (2) add a glass of vinegar while dyeing fabrics containing nylon, silk or wool.
    8. Add a tea spoon of dishwashing liquid to support level dyeing.
    9. Dissolve Viktoria fabric dye in hot water. One package of Viktoria dye paints 200 gr fabric.
    10. Wear rubber gloves. Add the prepared dye solution to dye liquor.
    11. Wet the fabric.
    12. If more than one colour is used:
    13. We recommend that begin with the lightest one.
    14. It is generally best to put the primary colours contiguous to each other (red, yellow, blue) or secondary colours (orange, green, purple). They create a third, wonderful colour in the areas where they are present together.
    15. Add the wrapped fabric to the lightest colour dye liquor. If more than one colour is used, separate the fabric section of each colour. The longer the fabric is in the dye liquor, the darker the colours. Please note that the fabric seems darker when wet and its colour lightens as long as drying.
    16. Repeat until all colours are used.
    17. When the desired colour is achieved, remove it from the dye liquor. Squeeze the extra dye. Do not remove the gum bands.
    18. We strongly recommend that you use the Fiske Fabric Dye Stabilizer just before dyeing and before washing. It boosts colour, stabilizes the dye and prevents dye from passing to white areas before bleeding. Follow these instructions.
    19. Rinse in cold water till the rinse water begins to clarify.
    20. Carefully remove the gum bands with a clipper and open the fabric.
    21. Wash with cold water and mild detergent, then rinse and dry.
    Ice Dyeing
    1. Before dyeing, remove stains on the clothes. This enables to have straight colour results while dyeing. Wash the prewashing item with warm and soapy water. This helps to remove all surfaces which may prevent dye absorption.
    2. Collect the equipment
    3. Cover the working place with a plastic tablecloth and use practical paper towels to protect against possible spills.
    4. Use rubber gloves to protect hands from getting dirty.
    5. Wet the fabric and lump it by compressing.
    6. Place the crumpled fabric on the top of drying rack and put the drying rack on a plastic tray or bucket (to allow dropping water to flow into it).
    7. Cover the fabric completely with ice. Different ice sizes will provide different patterns.
    8. Open the dye packages. Use the spoon to perfuse dye on ice.
    * More powder provides darker results
    * Adding color to sections provides more than an ombre effect.
    9. Let the ice melt completely.
    10. We strongly recommend that you use the Fiske Fabric Dye Stabilizer just before dyeing and before washing. It boosts color, stabilizes the dye and prevents dye from passing to white areas before bleeding.
    Marble Dyeing
    1. Cover the working place with a plastic tablecloth and use practical paper towels to protect against possible spills.
    2. Wash the pillow cases with prewashing, rinse and leave moist.
    3. If you dye something double-sided (such as t-shirt or a pillow case) and want to prevent the dye from back to backwards with bleeding, put a piece of cardboard in the front and back.
    4. Wear rubber gloves. Dissolve the Viktoria Fabric Dye in a hot water and put the prepared solution into a dropper bottle.
    5. Fill the baking sheet with shaving cream.
    6. Spread it in the tray with a spatula to achieve a smooth surface.
    7. Drip the dye with dropper as you want.
    8. Stir the drops with a stick.
    9. Place the fabric in the tray gently.
    10. Gently pressure to make it smooth.
    11. Keep the pillow in a pan for one to two minutes.
    12. Lift the fabric from the pan slowly.
    13. Scrape off the extra foam.
    14. Flick with Fiske Fabric Dye Stabilizer.
    15. Rinse in a cold water till the water flows completely.
    Thank you
